Weather Service reports storm-related injury in Hughes Springs

HUGHES SPRINGS/CASS COUNTY (KYTX) - Multiple agencies are reporting that a man was injured when thunderstorm winds blew over two camper trailers in Cass County.

The weather service is reporting that "two trailers flipped over" from thunderstorm winds, and that someone was injured in one of the trailers. The report was noted at 7:20 p.m.

A volunteer with the Hughes Springs Fire Department confirmed that two camping/RV-type trailers were blown over by the winds on FM 161 about one mile north of Hughes Springs. A man was inside one of the trailers and suffered lacerations to his face from glass. He was transported to a Longview hospital.

Cass County Sheriff's Office referred all questions to the Hughes Springs Police Department, which has not returned a phone call tonight from KYTX CBS-19.
