Web Exclusive: Little hero saves his friend after allergic reaction

(CNN/KATU) - A seven-year-old Oregon boy is being called a hero after helping save his friend, who was having an allergic reaction. The 7 year old grabbed the Nutella and started reading the ingredients on the back. Third one in, he knew he found something.

It's hard to find a moment when Ransom and Sully aren't together.  Whether they're waiting for the school assembly or practicing their comedy routine.

RANSOM'S reading skills came in handy one day at lunch.  "I wanted one of Anthony's chocolate things," says Sullivan Moore. Turns out the chocolate was Nutella.  A big problem for Sully.

"Sully has an allergy to all tree nuts. And he just thought it was chocolate," says Patti Moore, Sully's mom.

Ransom immediately knew something was wrong.  "Because he knew I was like this (mimes reaction)," says Sully.  "It was sorta like that, but he was also going (mimes pulling food out,)" says Ransom Duel.  "I found hazelnuts."

Ransom grabbed a teacher, who got sully the medicine he needed right away. "

And he might even be in the hospital now if I didn't do that," says Ransom. They call him a hero at school now.

"Hero I guess is the only word that can describe that," says Patti Moore, Sully's mom. But Ransom just prefers: friend.
