Web Exclusive: Pet hotel busy for the holidays

(CNN) -  New hotel in New York caters to an exclusive group of four-legged customers.  The doggie hotel is especially busy this holiday season.

In order to spread a little of that good cheer, an animal shelter in New York sent one lucky pup to the new city hot spot.

Americans spent about 50-billion dollars, last year, on their pets.  While the majority goes toward food and doctors bills, five-billion is related to the holiday season.  Kerry Brown co-owns the newly-opened New York branch D Pet Hotels.

"The holidays at D Pet Hotels is crazy.  I mean, yes, we see a ton of people buying gifts for their dog or their friend's dog, but we also see a ton of travel, so we have dogs who are coming here anywhere between one night and three weeks, who are coming to board with us and enjoy our space and all that," says Kerry Brown, D Pet Hotels Chelsea.

D Pet hotels offers boarding and doggie day care, but also provides extras for owners looking to really pamper their pets.  At this facility, the dogs can tone up and de-stress, doggie-style!

But, will they be getting Christmas presents? "Uhh, yeah.  They've already gotten several Christmas presents from their grandmother, and then they're gonna be getting lots of presents from me as well," says Sean Cook, dog owner.  "I can't stop buying him stuffed animals," says Dimitri Aletras, dog owner.

And no day out would be complete without a picture with the big man.

After a day living the high life, will this palace for pooches make lucky's real dreams come true? Time will tell if someone will take him up on his holiday wish and offer him a home for good.
