A legal dispute over the latest hobbit movie that opens this weekend is going to court.
Miramax filed suit in New York state court Tuesday against Warner Brothers.  The suit claims Warner Brothers owes them proceeds from two forthcoming movies in the Hobbit trilogy.  In 1998, Miramax and Warner Brothers signed a deal that gave Miramax a portion of the proceeds from the first Hobbit movie, but Warner Brothers, broke the story into three films.  Miramax wants a portion of the proceeds from each of the films, which could amount to $75 million dollars.  Warner Brothers said Miramax will have to live with its decision to sell the rights -- calling it "one of the great blunders in movie history."
