Wednesday's Weather: Patchy morning fog followed by mostly sunny skies, high 90

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Patchy morning fog is expected this morning, followed by a mostly sunny day.  Our next chance of rain/thunderstorms begins Thursday night through Friday morning.

The west Texas dryline will trigger scattered showers and t-storms today that will move east toward DFW by evening.  However, high pressure overhead here in East Texas will cause the storms to fall apart prior to making it into East Texas.  A disturbance and cold front will trigger showers/thunderstorms across Oklahoma late Thursday afternoon.  These are expected to drop southeast across the Red River and down into East Texas late Thursday night through Friday morning.  Some of these storms will contain brief heavy rain and gusty winds.  There will be a slight risk of severe weather with some of the stronger storms.

Rain will push east late Fri morning, followed by decreasing clouds and a nice afternoon Friday.  Highs today and tomorrow should reach 90.  Slightly cooler Friday with highs only near 86.  The weekend looks sunny & dry with highs between 90-92.

Have a great midweek!
