Weekend fire claims life of Marshall man

MARSHALL, TX. (KYTX) - The cause of a fire that claimed the life of a Marshall resident is under investigation.

47-year-old Richard Weekly died in the blaze Sunday afternoon when his mobile home caught fire.

Reggie Cooper, interim Marshall Fire Chief tells CBS 19, Weekly had limited mobility, and his body was found in the rubble in a bedroom area.
Weekly's family tried calling him earlier in the day and feared something was wrong when he didn't ansewr his cell phone.
Neighbors also alerted firefighters to the possibility, that Weekly who lived alone was unable to escape the fire.

An autopsy has been ordered, and the cause is undetermined.

The call came in Sunday at 1:51 p.m. The mobile home located in the 2300 block of Sledge Street was a total loss.
