Westwood ISD school board votes tonight on employee concealed handgun policy

PALESTINE (KYTX) - Westwood ISD regular scheduled board meeting Monday night will include voting on whether or not employees are allowed to carry a concealed handgun on school property.

If approved, the "Guardian Plan" would be effective once all of the staff that has volunteered to carry a handgun has received special training and provide their own concealed handgun license, according to Superintendent Ed Lyman.

The board meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the Westwood Jr. High cafeteria and is open to the public.
