White Oak officers chase suspect to top of high school building

WHITE OAK (KYTX) - A man who led Upshur County authorities on a chase Saturday night is now behind bars.

Upshur County deputies started chasing him because he assaulted one of their officers Saturday night. White Oak Police tell CBS 19 the suspect was arrested about 3:30 Sunday afternoon. 

They tell us during a traffic stop, the suspect slid out of the back seat of a car and ran across the street to the high school. He climbed on top of the high school. When he noticed other officers were climbing up there too, he jumped off the roof. White Oak police officers tasered the suspect as he attempted to run off.

White Oak Police tell us the suspect was arrested and was arraigned in White Oak last night on charges of evading arrest and on a Gregg County warrant. He is in the Gregg County jail.

The suspect's name has not been released.
