For this student, It is a hard reality to swallow.

"It's horrible, it's horrible... it's hitting hard because he was one of my favorite professors." - Barnett

The Ukrainian first began teaching in the U.S. at East Texas Baptist University in 2004. He began at Wiley in 2006 and has been there ever since.

He was an assistant professor of biology at Wiley and students say he spent hours upon hours with them after classes were over.

He did everything he could to impart his knowledge of science to them.

you could walk into the science building and be depressed. Once you saw Dr. Siniak he would say something that would instantly put you in a better mood. And to know he's not gonna be here is hard" - Barnett
