Update: TROUP (KYTX) -- DPS Troopers have identified the woman involved in the train wreck in Troup as 36-year-old Cynthia Strandberg of Tyler. At last report she is in critical condition at ETMC.
Troopers say the Union Pacific train was going 35 to 40 mph through Troup, when the conductor saw her black Ford SUV in the middle of a crossing around 12:45 p.m.. The conductor tells DPS investigators he did attempt to stop the train, but couldn't going at that rate of speed in time.
The scene was cleared shortly before 4 p.m., and traffic resumed as normal.
No cargo was damaged in the crash, and no one else was injured.
UPDATE: TROUP (KYTX) - Troup Chief of Police says one woman has been airlifted to ETMC after her Ford SUV collided with a train at a crossing on North Georgia in Troup.
He says her vehicle was pushed back about 100 yards from the point of impact by the Union Pacific train, before it stopped.
No one else was injured and DPS is currently assisting in the investigation.
The collision has blocked traffic in Troup, and officials hope to get intersections opened up within an hour.

UPDATE: TROUP (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - A train and vehicle have collided in Troup leaving one person seriously injured and blocking traffic in the Troup area. The accident occurred near North Georgia and Colley Avenue where a black SUV was hit by a train shortly before 1 p.m.
According to emergency radio traffic law enforcement from various agencies are responding to the area due to traffic being blocked through the town.
Troup (KYTX) - Troup Fire Department and police are responding to an accident involving a vehicle and a train at Highway 110 and Magnolia in Troup.
No word on injuries at this time.
