Woman homeless after house falls into sinkhole

SPRING HILL, Florida (CBS 10 News) - "Don't go to the front of the house, its not safe," said homeowner Linda Fisher.

The homeowner whose house is being threatened by a sinkhole in Spring Hill returned to get some belongings and 10 News Reporter Sarah Hagen was there at the scene on Eldridge Road and Van Allen Way.

The homeowner says she was out of town when this happened.

She saw photos first. She says it is way more shocking in person.

She was back to get stuff, but had to use the back door of the home.

"It's devastating you don't expect it," Fisher said.

Now she's homeless, and will have to bunk up at a hotel until she figures out what to do next.

The sinkhole is about 40x40 feet wide and 30 feet deep. The house also has structural damage.

Her daughter says the scary part is: no one knows what could happen next.

"The whole front of my mom's house is on a ledge--hanging pretty much," said Michelle Parisik.

The family is thankful everyone is okay and the community support has helped.

The city will be out tomorrow to figure out what to do next.

At this point, only one home is evacuated.
