PITTSBURG (KYTX) - An update now on the World Changers. We reported that all week that parts of Pittsburg have been inundated with teenagers. But along with laughter, they also brought sounds of hammers and power tools to struggling neighborhoods.Homeowners say this week has been a blessing.
"We really needed it today, because you see the boards and everything, you know. It's in pretty bad shape up here," says Phil Wright, 52, who is disabled and lives with his elderly father on Terry Street.
The teens are having a celebration tonight at First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, before they head home tomorrow morning.World changers is a ministry of Tennessee-based Lifeway Christian Resources. This summer, World Changers sent 12,000 teens to work on homes in more than sixty U.S. cities and towns.
