Wrestlers Benefit Local Church

   Body slams

  and crushing blows.
All to help Mount Zion Spiritual Church in Marshall.
The church built this $450,000 gymnasium 4 years ago. And needed help to pay it off.
Pastor Sedell Young says the event was all the wrestlers' idea.
"We are trying to get it paid off, and that's when they came up with the wrestling idea. And I thought, that's not a bad idea" - Sedell Young, Pastor
The wrestlers battered and bruised each other for hours Saturday night,   and filled the gym with hundreds of people to help pay off the remaining 60-thousand dollars the church owes.
Pro wrestler Jeremy Young says he doesn't mind putting his body on the line for free.
"In this ring, you can actually die in here if you do a move wrong. It's just a chance you take" - Jeremy Young
ACW, CEO William Ruffin pioneered the idea, and says the church's gym has been a big help to the community.
"We know we won't raise enough money tonight. But we are going to do what we can to get them closer to paying it off." - William Ruffin
"The pastor says a gym like this is needed to attract a younger crowd, which is in need of positive influences." - Kevin Boyce
"It brings in the young people, churches are dying because their are no young people. But you have to do something they like."- Sedell Young.
