John Tyler Players Take Different Routes To NFL

Different Routes From Tyler To The NFL

TYLER, Texas - Very few high school football players ever get a chance to play in the NFL. But for the best of the best, there are a number of routes to make it to the pros.

John Tyler High School has 5 players who will all be joining NFL teams this year. And that group has taken a variety of paths to get there.

Tyus Bowser took the most traditional path. After a strong career at Houston, Bowser was picked in the 2nd round of the NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

Fred Ross and Greg Ward Junior were both considered late round picks, but unfortunately, neither player was selected. However, it didn't take long after the draft ended for both players to sign free agent deals...Ross with the Panthers and Ward with the Eagles.

Justice Liggins and Darion Flowers both took the toughest path to the pros. Each of them played at FCS colleges and had to work hard to get exposure and get on the radar of NFL teams. But that's exactly what they did and both players were invited to rookie minicamps...Liggins with the Cardinals and Flowers with the Falcons.

Regardless of how they each made their way from John Tyler to the NFL, they're all there now and eager for their chance to make their name on a national stage.
