TYLER - The Lee tennis team has had a lot of regular season success in recent years. But in the postseason, it's a different story.
The Red Raiders haven't made it past the 2nd round of the playoffs in at least 15 years and they haven't made it to the state finals since 1990.
But this year's team is different.
Head coach Charlie Sizemore says, "The kids have been awesome working hard just trying to change the culture here."
The Red Raiders have won back-to-back district titles and are feeling good in the postseason. Lee opened the playoffs with a 10-1 win over Conroe Oak Ridge.
On Thursday, Lee loaded up the bus and headed off to their area round match-up with Richardson. But before they left, they got a huge send-off from the Lee students, teachers, and coaches.
Then, Lee went out and completely dominated Richardson, beating the Eagles 10-1.
The Red Raiders will now get a huge test as they face 4th ranked and undefeated The Woodlands in the next round.
