LONGVIEW - Its safe to say that the postseason is going well for the Longview football team. I mean, in the 2nd round, the Lobos set a school playoff record by scoring 75 points as they crushed Dallas Jesuit.
However, this week, things will get much, much tougher for the Lobos. Longview faces undefeated and state ranked Klein Collins in the regional semifinal round.
Longview enters this game on an 8-game winning streak. And their offense has been clicking in those games, averaging almost 50 points per game. That hot streak has the Lobos feeling good as they prepare for the Tigers.
Head coach John King says, "We're finally starting to get healthy and get some continuity and you know when you start getting that good chemistry, you start playing good, and no more of an important time to do that than in the playoffs."
This week's game will be Longview's first playoff game against a Houston area team since 2011 and it will be their first game of any kind in Waco since 2010.
Longview and Klein Collins will kick off at 2:00 PM on Saturday at McLane Stadium in Waco.
