LINDALE - The Lindale baseball team has been pretty successful over the last few years and some of their district showdowns with Whitehouse have been epic. Before the 2018 season gets started, several Eagles baseball players signed with colleges on Wednesday afternoon.
It was a special day for all 3 players as they got to sign with their colleges next to one another. And with all 3 going to Division 1 schools, this was a big day for the Lindale program.
"It's been a grind ever since freshmen year, had to do a lot, work after school and do things on the weekend for 4 or 5 hours so the hard work has been paying off and I hope for it to continue to keep paying off," says Burckel.
The shortstop was joined by fellow teammates Kollin McCartney and Jamey Richey who both were content with their choice in schools.
"I'm excited because I got to know the coaches and it's a good environment and good family environment that I'm comfortable with going to for the next 4 years," explains McCartney.
"It feels good it's something I've worked for my who life and I look forward to seeing how the next couple of years go and looking forward to my senior year," says Richey.
Joining the 3 baseball players at Wednesday's signing was one of Lindale's golf stars. Evan White has signed to continue his golf career at Texas State and is thrilled to call San Marcos home.
"It's a little overwhelming but it's super exciting also it's the start of the next chapter in my life and I'm really looking forward to it," says White.
