TYLER - Last year, the UT Tyler basketball teams held a food drive around Thanksgiving to help those in need.
This year, the Patriots are doing what they can to help out again.
The teams are partnering with the UT Tyler Police Department to hold a toy drive on Saturday. Any fan who brings a toy to donate will get free admission to the men's and women's basketball games on Saturday.
All of the toys collected will go to The Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County, giving those in need a boost right before Christmas.
UT Tyler men's basketball coach Jamon Copeland says, "That's what UT Tyler is all about is helping out the community and helping out the less fortunate and we're glad to do it."
UT Tyler Police Chief Mike Medders adds, "The more toys that we can bring in the children that we can reach who otherwise might not have anything this year."
The Patriots will be playing Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday. The women's game starts at 2 PM, the men's game will tip-off at 4 PM.
