4th grade student chosen to ask question to Barbara Bush

TYLER,TX (KYTX)

One lucky Tyler elementary school student got to ask former First Lady Barbara Bush a question, face to face. Well, sort of.

"Hello, Mrs. Bush my name is Bryce Holloway. As first lady what would you like to be remembered for?," the student asked.

"I hope that they would know I cared about people," Mrs. Bush said.

This morning at Austin Elementary, the Barbara Bush read aloud video conference was held.

4th grader Bryce Holloway was the representative from Austin Elementary.

He was one of 20 students chosen statewide to ask a question.

Bryce says he was selected because he is a role model for younger students.

During her time as first lady, Barbara Bush was known for her big literacy push.
