A fifth-generation native Texan, Amanda Roberson joined the KYTX CBS 19 News team in June 2009 as an evening producer and is now hitting the streets of East Texas as a general assignment reporter.
Amanda graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2009, receiving a Bachelor of Journalism with concentrations in Business Foundations and Spanish. Amanda earned University Honors each year and received numerous awards including the Joe Roddy, Jr. Headliners Foundation Scholarship in Broadcast News for two consecutive years.
While at The University, Amanda was a member of Orange Jackets, an honorary women's service organization and the official hostesses of The University. She also served as President of the UT Chapter of the Radio-Television News Directors Association.
Amanda interned with News 8 Austin, a 24-hour news station, and reported for the UT student newscasts, Texas News Watch and College Pressbox. She also worked for Clear Channel Communications in Dallas during school breaks. Amanda studied in Spain, learning and reporting on the history of the Spanish Civil War and better understanding the language and culture she is so enthusiastic about.
When not out reporting on the stories that matter to you, Amanda enjoys hitting the links, quality time with family and friends, traveling, trying new restaurants, and cheering on the Longhorns.
