Jackson is a typical boy. "I'm an outdoor person." He especially enjoys fishing and camping. "I like snakes and stuff. I play with them," he says with a smile.
"Jackson is a very lively and outgoing boy," says Anna VanBuskirk, Jackson's Child Protective Services caseworker.
This 12-year-old is a good student and enjoys school. He'd one day like to be on a football team. "[I'd like to play] wide receiver."
And when he grows up… "Help kids. [I'd] counsel them." He hopes they can learn from his past. "That I've been through a rough life and stuff."
Being in foster care has left a lot of instability in Jackson's life. "First you get used to people and you make friends then you have to move and you have to remake friends, so it's complicated."
Anna says, "He benefits from people who encourage him to try new things and work hard at the things he gets frustrated with."
Jackson becomes easily frustrated that no one cares about him. He's looking forward to a forever family who will love him unconditionally. "A nice family, not an abusive. My family has been abusive so much. [I] just [want] a normal family. Just have a family so I can live with them."
The one thing he most wants a family to know about him is "That I'm honest," he says.
