I learned early in life I wanted to work in news.  I like the idea that my job allows me to teach people something new everyday, and tell stories that can touch their lives.  

I graduated from the University of Houston (Eat 'Em Up Coogs!) in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism and a minor in business management.  While in school, I took on an internship at KPRC Local 2 in Houston and learned just what it meant to work in a major market, and all the stress that comes with it!  After graduating, I took a job on the assignments desk back at KPRC.  Boy, that was no easy task!  I worked the early morning shift at 4 A.M. on the weekends, finding stories, listening to scanners and helping the newsroom run smoothly.

Not long after that I got my first chance to do what I love at KFDM in Beaumont, TX.  I spent about three years there, learning the ropes and what matters to people.  That's also where I became an award-winning journalist, all while sharpening my skills.

Now that I'm at KYTX I hope to continue to grow in my career, and continue to learn about East Texas.
