Mad Hatter's Tea benefits downtown Tyler

Posted: Updated:

TYLER (KYTX) -- Gallery Main Street hosted the Mad Hatter's Tea Party Thursday morning.

Every wild hat you could imagine was in attendance -- most of them on top of a head. The tea drinkers bid on tea cups and tea pots designed and painted by local celebrities.

"All the money raised will go toward the redevelopment of downtown Tyler, which is just such an important area for us economically, culturally, historically," Main Street Tyler's Beverly Abell said.

Proceeds from Thursday's tea party auctions will also benefit the performing arts in downtown Tyler.
