Near drowning at Lake Hawkins; child in critical condition

WOOD COUNTY (KYTX) -- Wood County Game Warden Kurt Kelly has confirmed that an eight-year-old girl nearly drowned in Lake Hawkins on Monday, but was saved by a man nearby who saw her go under.

The girl was swimming near an RV park at the lake when she went under in water six feet deep. Glen Borget dove into the water and was able to pull her out. 

Melayna Kersh administered CPR to the child, who is currently in critical condition at Children's Medical Hospital in Dallas.
