KYTX -- Casey Anthony, acquitted of charges that she murdered her daughter Caylee, filed an appeal today of her conviction that she lied to law enforcement officers. Anthony will be released from prison this weekend, but her legal troubles are far from over.
With her daughter Caylee still missing, a swarm of journalists was waiting to ask this mother some questions. When Anthony is allowed to leave this Florida jail Sunday, she'll likely face a different crowd.
The jury did, however, find her guilty on four counts of lying to investigators. Taking into account time served, Anthony's release is Sunday. It's unknown where she's going to land after the Orange Co. Jail.
Where will Anthony go? will she return to her parents' home?
During the trial, her attorney's accused her father George Anthony of raping Casey and helping to cover up Caylee's death. Her mom testified for both the defense and the prosecution. No matter where she ends up, Anthony will need to keep her lawyers close.
She's being sued for defamation and the Texas company that helped search for little Caylee is suing to recoup expenses. Then, there are the protesters who say Anthony got away with murder.
Casey Anthony is getting support and sympathy from strangers and her bank account is benefiting. Sympathetic admirers are sending her checks for her prison account. Most of the money is donated by men ranging in age from 19 to 60.
So what is she spending it on? so far: deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste and eyeliner. She also bought premium chicken breasts, spicy peanuts and nacho cheese dip.
Anthony earned $472, almost $200 more than she had the day of the verdict .
