Abby Broyles joined the CBS 19 news team in March 2011 as a general assignment reporter. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Broyles began her broadcast career as an associate producer at the CBS affiliate, KWTV, in Oklahoma City.
She comes to CBS 19 with experience covering news from the Midwest to the west coast. Prior to her professional broadcast career, she was a news intern in Los Angeles at KNBC and KCBS/KCAL. She enjoyed learning all aspects of television news and sports, from covering Lakers games to working on the KNBC Sunday morning political news program. Broyles graduated cum laude from California Baptist University with a B.A. in journalism and political science.
Now, she's excited to be reporting in East Texas and getting involved in the community. She considers herself fortunate to have a job where people allow her into their lives every day to tell their stories, and she hopes her reporting makes an impact on East Texans.
Broyles likes to spend her free time either outdoors swimming or inside with a good book and a cup of coffee. She also enjoys shopping, following her favorite sports teams, and catching up with friends and family.
