From the age of 5, Nick knew he wanted to be a professional athlete. After realizing his dream of playing professionally would not work out at age 6, he figured he would do the next best thing: sports broadcasting.
From the moment he watched SportsCenter, Nick had the desire at 6 years old to make it in the TV world. He did play sports growing up and attempted to walk-on to the Texas Tech basketball team on the show "Knight School." But broadcasting has always been the dream.
Nick started his career in Beaumont, TX in 2008 as weekend sports anchor/sports reporter followed by a move to WFAA in Dallas as sports producer and a stint in Lubbock. Nick eventually made his way back to Dallas working as a free-lance reporter for shows such as Mavs Insider, Stars Insider and other specials on Fox Sports Southwest.
Nick moved to Tyler in May, 2011 and is very excited to be here. He is a Texas Tech grad, a major college football fan and cannot wait to tackle (see what I did there) Friday night football in East Texas. Nick's favorite sports moment was attending Game 4 of the NBA Finals and the Game 6 watch party seeing his favorite local team, the Dallas Mavericks, clinch their first ever title. Growing up in the early 90s seeing the Mavs win somewhere between 11-20 games per year was worth it in 2011.
Nick is originally from Arlington, his entire family resides in the DFW area and besides sports, you can find him training to make the Crossfit Games in the coming years.
Nick is always interested in talking sports, so feel free to say hi or e-mail him. Wreck ‘em!
