In an early morning drug bust Friday, Anderson County officials seized cash, cocaine, marijuana, pills and a semi-automatic handgun from a home, the Palestine Police Department announced Friday.

Anthony D. Adams, 29, was arrested at his residence, where the bust took place, in the 100 block of West Dallas Street, and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of marijuana between four ounces and five pounds.

As of 3 p.m. Friday he had not been arraigned and did not have a bond set.

During execution of the controlled substance search warrant, investigators seized about 4.3 grams of suspected cocaine, 12.4 ounces of suspected marijuana and 13.7 grams of assorted unidentified tablets, in addition to $729 in cash from Adams' home.

Law enforcement also seized a scanner, scales, packaging materials and a Taurus PT140 .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun that landed at officers' feet after someone in the house threw it through a window.

Anderson County Drug Investigation Unit, members of the Anderson County Tactical Unit, Texas DPS - Criminal Investigation Division and Palestine Police Department assisted in the bust.
