EAST TEXAS (KYTX) -- Governor Rick perry is expected to propose an economic growth plan that includes a flat tax.

This system would mean there is only one tax rate, where we have a series of rates set in place currently.

Proponents say it would be simpler, fairer and better for the economy.

The wealthy could see their tax rates fall under a plan like this, where the lowest income tax-payers could be saddled with a larger burden.
