EAST TEXAS (KYTX) -- 13-year-old Jasmine is a confident young lady. She enjoys meeting people and talking.
"I like going shopping for new things," she said. "I like roller skating. I like playing sports and volleyball, running."
She also enjoys music, art and travel and thinks she might want to be a writer someday.
"When I feel sad I put my feelings into a story," she said.
Those feelings of sadness come from spending three years in foster care.
"I had to change a lot of schools from 9 all the way up to now," she said.
Jasmine had to make a lot of adjustments to overcome a chaotic lifestyle.
"While she's outgoing and very friendly and social, she also has a very low frustration level," Child Protective Services Caseworker Cindy Hodges said. "But, she's made so much progress during the time she's been in care."
Jasmine needs a patient forever family willing to offer positive reinforcement and realistic expectations.
"I want to be with a family that loves and cares for me as I am, instead of just being in a home to be around," she said.
