(CBS) - A new treatment option for children with ADHD may be on the horizon.

Researchers have identified a gene variation in certain kids with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

The gene is involved in brain signaling. Doctors believe the discovery will lead to new drug treatments for hundreds of thousands of children with the gene variant.
