Children Are A Gift: Diane

Posted: Updated:

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) -- Brenda, or Diane as she likes to be called, is very creative and enjoys expressing herself through art.

Spongebob is her favorite character and her favorite color is pink. She hopes to be a chef when she grows up and enjoys going to church.

"She's a sweet, very talkative little girl," Child Protectiove Services Ashley Gipson said. "Workers can say nothing negative about her. She's just your happy, energetic 12 year old."

This 5th grader is very polite and does well in school.

"It's fun, I have a lot of friends and they're nice to me," Brenda-Diane said. "My favorite thing to do in school is social studies.

Diane is making the most of her time in foster care.

"I like it, it's just I miss my brother," she said.

She said she's hoping a forever family will let her maintain contact with him.

Gipson said Diane would do best in a two parent family and would enjoy other children.

"One that will be patient with her, work with her for who she is and for where she is at this time," she said. "Allow her time to adjust to them."

Relying on her faith, Diane is hopeful her future will hold a lot of opportunities.

"She has the potential to be whatever she wants to be," Gipson said. "There's no limits on what she can be."
