Consumer Corner: Fuel takes top spot for exports

(CBS/CNN) - It's a first for the U.S., fuel is now the top export.  The country is on pace to ship $88 billion dollars worth of gas, jet fuel and diesel.

A decade ago, fuel wasn't even among the top 25 exports. This is the first time in 60 years the U.S. is exporting more fuel than it imports.

Iran's recent military exercises have sent the price of oil up.  The price of a barrel of crude in Asia jumped to $101 dollars.

Traders are nervous about Iran's missile test this week.  Iran has threatened to shut down a critical passage in retaliation for economic sanctions.

A syringe scare at a Walmart.  A syringe was recently found in a pair of slippers on sale at a north Georgia Calmar. It's not the first time this has happened.

15 syringes have been found since the end of November at the location. No one was hurt this time, but two shoppers were pricked in other incidents.

An iconic symbol in Las Vegas is gone.  The Las Vegas Hilton is changing its name ending a 40-year reign with this familiar title.

Today it becomes the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.  The hotel originally opened as the International Hotel in 1969.  It became the Hilton in 1971.
