Web Exclusive: Fans have Texans ticket fever

Posted: Updated:

(CBS) - The entire city of Houston and some of the state has Texans fever.  As the count down begins to their first playoff game ever, a privileged few got a hold of playoffs tickets to the game on Saturday.  Those who don't have a ticket, have to pay a hefty price to get them.

Some die-hards are selling their seats in exchange for a lotto-like payday.

Tony Linz says "There's no way I'm going to sell my ticket."  Tony has what Texans' fans crave. Tickets to their team's first-ever playoff game against the Bengals.

For someone with Texans vanity plates, decals, a room full of Texans memorabilia and who counts each second on a Texans clock, selling is not an option.  "I mean, you're going to have to give me half a million dollars," says Linz.

Roger Lazarin hasn't missed a game in five years.  He got engaged at a Texans' game and even had his picture printed on Texans' tickets, but his wife is forcing Lazarin to think about selling playoff tickets because people are selling seats online for as much as five-thousand dollars!  "My wife wasn't too happy about me getting the playoff tickets to begin with.  She looked up all these places: Craigslist, eBay, Stubhub and when she saw they were going for over a thousand and we could pay off some bills with this money, but I said no way.  I am going to this game," says Lazarin.

He considers these tickets priceless, but don't feel bad for Lazarin's wife, He's already arranged a make-up.  "Let's just say this Valentine's day is going to be extremely special for her. Christmas was good for her.  I kind of went above and beyond to make her happy so she makes me happy," says Lazarin.

The Texans have this warning for fans buying tickets.  They say there are only three reliable places to buy tickets: the team, Ticketmaster or the league's ticket exchange.
