TYLER -- A 44-year-old Longview, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for child pornography violations in the Eastern District of Texas.

Ronald Lee Strader pleaded guilty on July 6, 2011, to possession of material involving the sexual exploitation of children and was sentenced to 32 months in federal prison on Jan. 10, 2012.

According to information presented in court, on Jan. 13, 2011, a federal search warrant was executed at Strader's residence. During the investigation, Strader admitted that he used the internet to search for, download and view child pornography.

A forensic analysis of his computer revealed 477 images of child pornography. Some of the videos depicted children less than 12 years of age engaged in sadistic and masochistic conduct.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
