(CNN) - Actor Mark Wahlberg is backpedaling on controversial comments he made in a Men's Journal interview.

In the February issue, the star claims that he could have prevented a plane from crashing into the twin towers if he were on the flight saying there would have been a lot of blood and that he would have told the passengers not to worry, they'd land safely.

Wahlberg has issued a statement apologizing for the comments calling them irresponsible and insensitive to the victims' families.

It's a sad day for Star Wars fans hoping for another adventure.  Legendary film maker George Lucas says he's ready to retire.  The man behind the hit franchises Star Wars and Indiana Jones tells the New York Times he's calling it quits with big blockbusters, but he isn't renouncing show biz altogether.

Lucas has just finished a big budget biopic on the Tuskegee Airmen and wants to focus his movie making magic on less commercial films.

May the force, or cake be with you.  This epic cake was served up at a sci-fi convention in Boston.  Amanda Oakleaf Cakes near Boston created this six-foot, four-inch tall edible storm-trooper.

It took a staff of 10 to assemble the 300- pound cake.  They used 208 eggs, 20 pounds of butter, 140 pounds of sugar and 35 pounds of flour.  They also used 55 pounds of marshmallows and 30 pounds of rice krispies treats.

Joining "likes" on Facebook, the social network has added dozens of new types of posts, including "bought," "read" and "want."

The new apps were launched at a news conference Wednesday night.  Apps for foodies, like Foodspotting can publish to a user's Facebook profile when you update your digital diary of meals.  Ticketmaster can publish to Facebook when customers buy concert tickets.

Each user also will be able to manually override these profile placements.
