Showers and thunderstorms move through East Texas

East Texas (KYTX) - Showers and Thunderstorms will continue affecting East Texas through
early to mid afternoon. The greatest threat for severe weather will remain mainly South of Interstate 20 - in the warmer air.

A Tornado Watch will remain in place for areas South and East of Tyler/Longview until 3:00 PM. Otherwise, look for periods of heavy rainfall, brief gusty winds, and possibly some small hail in the stronger storms - closer to and North of I-20. Rainfall totals could well exceed 2 inches across the Central and Eastern Counties of East Texas. Those totals will increase as you go further West, and into the Western Counties of East Texas (Hopkins, Rains, Van Zandt, Henderson, Anderson, Houston & Trinity).
