Tyler – The Tyler Independent School District is working to make sure its schools provide a safe learning environment for all students. That is why Tyler ISD is promoting an anti-bullying campaign, including a Public Service Announcement on TISD TV Channel 19 and an anonymous bullying tip form on campus websites.

The Public Service Announcement, which can be seen on TISD TV Channel 19, encourages students to take a stand against bullying. One way students can do that is by reporting any instance of bullying at their school. On each of the Tyler ISD campus websites, students can find a new "No Bully Zone" link. The link takes them to a bullying incident report form, where they can fill out the information anonymously. The information gathered from the website will be combined with reports from Tyler ISD teachers, administrators, and staff members, which will help campus officials locate and stop bullying in Tyler ISD schools.

"It is our job to provide students with a safe place to learn," Tyler ISD Superintendent Dr. Randy Reid said. "The ‘No Bully Zone' tool provides one more way to help ensure our campuses remain safe and secure."

To jump start its anti-bullying efforts, a Tyler ISD elementary school is participating in "Stand Up, Stand Strong" week, aimed at teaching students the importance of kindness, friendship, acceptance and compassion. Students at Bell Elementary Global Communications Academy will celebrate each day of the week with different anti-bullying themes, such as "Hairs to a Bully-Free School," a day when students can wear crazy hair. On Tuesday, January 31 at 1:30 p.m. Bell Elementary students will take part in The NED Show, a motivational assembly that encourages students to become champions at life.
