EAST TEXAS (KYTX) -- An East Texas man will be playing in the Super Bowl on Sunday, but not football.
Longview's Monte Pittman will be sharing the stage with Madonna, who he's played with for the last decade.
Pittman learned his first licks right here in East Texas.
His mother said his career took off after he became Madonna's guitar teacher.
"After Madonna had her little boy Rocco, she got a guitar and started taking lessons," Linda Pittman, Monte's mother, said. "A month and a half later they were on the Letterman Show. That was his first TV appearance."
Monte has his own signature guitar built by the Jarrell Company. He's also played lead guitar for Adam Lambert.
