NACOGDOCHES (KYTX) -- This afternoon the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office recovered a stolen airplane after it landed on a private runway located in Southern Nacogdoches County.
The pilot, suspect Terry Boozer, fled into a nearby wooded area and was arrested after a foot pursuit that lasted less than 10 minutes. He is now booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on charges of felony Theft and Evading Arrest.
Boozer is no stranger to the police office and has been arrested several times over the past few months on illegal drug and weapons charges. He was out on bond on those offenses when the plane was taken.
The airplane was a Cessna 182 valued at $110,000.00. It had been taken from an airport in Athens, TX about a week ago. It has been stored at a hanger in Nacogdoches until the owner can make arrangements to retrieve it.
