The Tyler Fire Department responded to a two-alarm structure fire this afternoon at 400 Old Grande Avenue. The initial call was received at 4:25 p.m. and the caller reported a fire in the apartment. A second alarm was called for and five engines and one Ladder Company, along with a District Chief and an Investigator, responded to the scene. The fire was under control at 4:41 p.m.
The fire apparently originated in the upper portion of the coat closet. Residents were at home when the fire was discovered. There was fire damage to the closet, but no fire extension into the attic or nearby apartments. In addition, there was smoke damage throughout the apartment.
TYLER (KYTX) - Tyler Fire Department have responded to a reported fire at the Woodlands Apartment complex, Apartment building 13, property 1308. The complex is located in the 400 block of Old Grande Road.
It is a two alarm fire and two fire departments responded.
Crews are still on the scene.
