Study shows light alcohol consumption may boost creativity

Hemingway did it, and so did Faulkner and Fitzgerald.

Now, a new study may explain part of their inspiration.

The study suggests that having an alcoholic drink or two may boost your creativity.

The research appears in the publication Consciousness and Cognition.

In the study, 20 social drinkers watched an animated film and were given just enough alcohol to reach a .075 Blood Alcohol Content.

They were then asked to complete a creative problem-solving task.

The study found that those who drank had an easier time solving the problem than their sober counterparts.
