Los Angeles (CNN) - An ICE agent is killed and another wounded in an office shooting.

It happened Thursday evening at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency offices in Long Beach.

Authorities say a confrontation between an ICE officer and his supervisor escalated into gunfire. Law enforcement authorities say the officer shot repeatedly at his supervisor before a third agent stepped in and opened fire on the gunman.

Those sources say the agent who fired the first shots was pronounced dead at the scene. The agent who survived the attack is hospitalized this morning, no word on his condition.
