Update: ETMC stabbing suspect identified by uncle and girlfriend, receives second warrant

UPDATE (3:55 p.m.) - Thursday, February 23, 2012 Tyler Police Investigations Unit has secured the second warrant on Royce D. Allen for the Aggravated Assault that took place on January 29, 2012 at ETMC.  Bond was set at $300,000.00.

TYLER (KYTX) -- Royce Allen's uncle and girlfriend have both been interviewed by police, shown footage and photographs, and given their 100% assurance that Allen is the individual seen in the video and photos.

Police released a sworn affidavit this afternoon.

Allen is charged with aggravated robbery, a first degree felony.

TYLER ( KYTX) -- Tyler Police Investigators have arrested the suspect wanted in connection to the two Aggravated Robberies that occurred at East Texas Medical Center Hospital over that past several weeks.

The suspect is identified as Royce Dewayne Allen, B/M, 02/10/1979.  Allen was placed under arrest around 10:00 a.m. today February 22, 2012 at 2318 S. Donnybrook where he was living with his girlfriend.  Allen had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Non-Payment of Child Support.

Investigators received information this morning that led them to the identity and location of Allen.  Investigators are confident that Allen is responsible for both Aggravated Robberies that took place at East Texas Medical Center.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence Allen has been staying at on S. Donnybrook and also obtained an arrest warrant for Aggravated Robbery (1st Degree Felony).

A second arrest warrant will be obtained tomorrow for Aggravated Robbery.

Allen is currently in Smith County Jail on a $300,000.00 Bond.
