WE What's Trending: So long sugary drinks; Hello Weight Watchers

Posted: Updated:

(CBS/CNN) - If Mayor Michael Bloomberg has his way, New York City could have the toughest anti- soda laws in the country.  Big, sugary drinks would be illegal.  That's drinks larger than 16 ounces.

An interview in New York Times says this will be a far reaching ban and will include restaurants, movie theaters, and anywhere else large drinks are sold in the city.  She's already a pop star, fashionista, new mom and TV host.  Now, Jessica Simpson can add yet another title to the mix-- the newest weight watchers spokeswoman.  On Wednesday, the buxom blonde took to Twitter to announce the news. She tweeted that she was excited to join the weight watchers family. As the newest spokeswoman for the weight loss plan, Simpson will be joining the ranks of slimmed down starlets Jennifer Hudson and Jenny McCarthy.

A free Justin Bieber concert in Norway put fans in a frenzy.  Tens of thousands of "Beliebers" descended on the Oslo Opera House Wednesday after word spread of a free mini-concert. Bieber's manager says Norway police were on the verge of declaring a state of emergency. Bieber himself took to Twitter, asking his fans to listen to police.  The chaos may make its way into Bieber's newly-announced television special.  It'll give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the global tour promoting his upcoming album.

Arsenio Hall may be getting back into TV talk.  The latest winner of the "Celebrity Apprentice" is reportedly in talks with CBS television to launch a syndicated talk show.  "The Hollywood Reporter" says the negotiations are still in the early stages.  CBS also syndicated hall's previous late-night show, which aired from 1989 to 1994.
