Possible link between childhood trauma and skin cancer

(CBS) - Doctors have found a possible link between childhood trauma and skin cancer.

Researchers at Ohio State looked at cancer patients whose childhood included periods of neglect or maltreatment. They found that those patients are at a much greater risk for their cancers to return if they go through a very stressful event. The study finds that a difficult childhood can affect future immune response. Doctors say those patients should be extra vigilant about their health.

(CBS) - Parents, be careful about giving your children the correct dosage of acetaminophen.

The medication is widely available over the counter, but overdosing can cause liver failure and be life threatening. Researchers in Ontario are suggesting better labeling and dosing information. And they recommend that pharmacists keep acetaminophen behind the counter so they can counsel parents on the correct dosage.

(CBS) - Ladies, taking soy supplements may not boost your brainpower after menopause.

The Stanford School of Medicine looked at hundreds of women over the age of 45. They found there was no difference in mental abilities between those who took soy supplements and those who didn't.
