UPDATE (KCEN) --

-------------------------------

Two Copperas Cove children are back safe with their family after they were reported missing Wednesday.

Their dad now says it was all a misunderstanding.

His children weren't where they were supposed to be and there was no way of contacting them.

But Copperas Cove police are still investigating to make sure no foul play occurred.

Brothers Jarett and Izak Braunberger were supposed to be swimming with a neighbor and her two kids.

But they never made it home, and no one could find the neighbor.

Copperas Cove police received the call about 9:30 Wednesday night, and that's when the search began.

Several friends and family members, of the neighbor, said she enjoyed swimming at Stillhouse Hollow Lake.

After learning she hadn't been to work for the past two days, and fearing for the children, an Amber Alert was issued at 10:00 Thursday morning.

Less than an hour later, Bell County Sheriffs Office got a tip on the boys whereabouts.

They found them in a Bell County home, unharmed.

"We're going to interview the children and of course bring Ms. Williams in and speak with her, and once we have all of the facts together we'll decide whether it's criminal violation or not," said Copperas Cove Police Lt. Brian Wyers.

With summer here, there's an important lesson from this is.

If you're going to let your children go with another family, always make sure you've met the parents.

Know where they're going, when they'll be back and always have good contact information.
