Firefighters battle wildfires in Colorado, New Mexico

Posted: Updated:

(CBS) - Firefighters have been working throughout the night, trying to gain control of that massive wildfire burning in Colorado.

The fire doubled in size Monday and has damaged an estimated 118 buildings. At least one person has died in that fire. The remains of a 62-year-old woman were found Monday. Hundreds of people near Fort Collins are still evacuated. Firefighters believe a lightning strike started the fire.

Meanwhile, things are going better in New Mexico where lighter winds allowed firefighters to get that blaze a little more under control. Crews say that fire is 30 percent contained this morning. The "Little Bear Fire" has burned more than 36-thousand acres.
