(CBS) - US Secretary of Commerce John Bryson will take a medical leave of absence following two car accidents over the weekend.

Bryson allegedly rear-ended a car Saturday, then drove off, hitting the car again. Minutes later, police say he hit another car. Police found Bryson unconscious behind the wheel. Bryson was ticketed for the two accidents.

A Commerce Department spokesman says the Secretary suffered a seizure Saturday and has limited recall of the incidents.
