Parts of East Texas to see scattered showers and thunderstorms

Posted: Updated:
TYLER (KYTX) -- The rain is ending right on time and should be all gone by 9:00 p.m. We have an even better chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday. Like today, no organized severe weather is expected, but the storms will produce cloud-to-ground lightning, gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall.

TYLER (KYTX) - Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to move north-northwestward across the eastern half of our area.

At 3:45 p.m., the activity extended along and southeast of a line from eastern Cass County along the Louisiana border southwestward to Crockett in Houston County.

No severe weather has been reported, but the storms will produce cloud-to-ground lightning, gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall.

This activity will begin to decrease with the loss of afternoon heating as the sun sets. It should end before midnight.
